How Do I Mark a Booking as Paid If a Customer Pays by Cash or Other Non-Card Methods?

There are times when a customer pays you by cash, cheque, e-transfer, or another non-card method.

In these cases, you’ll want the booking to reflect that payment was received so the balance shows as zero and your records remain accurate.

MioCommerce allows you to record these payments without processing a card charge.

MioPay is the payment feature in MioCommerce used when customers pay by credit or debit card, powered by Stripe.

It helps you collect payments faster and keep everything tied directly to the booking.

When Should I Use This?

Use this option when:

  • A customer paid in cash or by cheque (any other method except credit/debit card)

  • Payment was collected outside of MioCommerce Platform

  • You do not want to charge a credit or debit card

  • You simply need the booking balance to reflect payment received

Step-by-Step: Mark a Booking as Paid without Processing a Card Charge.

Step 1: Open the Booking

  1. From the left-hand menu, go to Bookings

  2. Select the booking you want to Mark as charged

  3. Click on "Charge Customer".

Step 2. Select the Collection Method

Select the collection method from the displayed options.

Available collection methods include:

  • Cash

  • Cheque

  • Interac e-Transfer

  • eCheck

  • PAD

  • PayPal (External)

  • Square (External)

  • Venmo

  • Zelle (External)

  • Coupon

  • IMS

  • ITEX

  • None (for manual adjustments)

Step 3: Enter the Amount

  1. Enter the amount you want to record as paid

  2. Click Yes, record the collection

Once saved:

  • The payment is recorded on the booking

  • The balance owed updates to zero

  • No card is charged and no payment is processed online

Important to Know

  • This action does not process a card payment

  • Funds are not handled by Stripe

  • This is for record-keeping and balance tracking only

  • You can still view the payment history on the booking
