Non-working hours allow you to mark specific times when your company or team members are unavailable. When these hours are set, bookings cannot be scheduled during that time.

This helps ensure that bookings only occur when your team is actually available.

Key Takeaways

  • Non-working hours block bookings during specific time periods.

  • They override operating hours and service provider work schedules.

  • Non-working hours can be set at two levels:

    • Company level – blocks availability for the entire business.

    • Service provider level – blocks availability for a specific team member.

  • Non-working hours are created directly from the calendar by selecting a time period.

  • You can add notes or descriptions (e.g., vacation, holiday, training) to track the reason.

  • All non-working hours can be reviewed in Settings → Operating Hours → Non-Working Hours.

What are non-working hours?

Non-working hours are periods when bookings are blocked, even if they fall within normal operating hours or work schedules.

These may include:

  • Company holidays (Christmas, national holidays, etc.)

  • Staff vacations

  • Training days

  • Temporary closures

  • Personal time off for a service provider

Important:
Non-working hours override operating hours and work hours. If a time is marked as non-working, bookings will not be allowed during that period.

Where can non-working hours be set?

Non-working hours can be configured at two different levels.

1. Company-level non-working hours

Used when the entire business is unavailable.

Examples:

  • Christmas Day

  • Public holidays

  • Company shutdown days

  • Maintenance or office closure

When set at the company level, all service providers become unavailable during that period.

2. Service provider-level non-working hours

Used when only specific team members are unavailable.

Example:

  • One team member is on vacation

  • A technician is attending training

  • A staff member is sick or unavailable

In this case, only that service provider’s calendar is blocked, while the rest of the team remains available.

How to create non-working hours

Non-working hours are created directly from the Calendar.

  1. Log in to your MioCommerce account.

  2. Open the Calendar.

  3. Select the date and time period you want to block.

  4. Choose Non-Working Hours.

  5. Save the entry.

The selected time will now be blocked for bookings.

How non-working hours interact with other schedules

Your booking availability is controlled by three key settings:

  • Operating Hours
    Your company’s official open hours.

  • Service Provider Work Hours
The working schedule for each team member.

  • Non-Working Hours
    Specific exceptions that block availability.

Where to view all non-working hours

To see the full list of your non-working hours and notes:

  1. Go to Settings in the left menu.

  2. Select Operating Hours.

  3. Navigate to the Non-Working Hours section.

Here you can review and manage all blocked periods.
