MioCommerce allows you to charge a customer using a credit card for a one-time payment directly from the web or mobile app. This payment method is designed for situations where you do not want to save the customer’s card for future use.
Overview
One-time credit card payments let you securely collect payment for a single transaction. After the payment is completed, the credit card information is not stored in the system.
This feature is ideal for:
One-off or ad-hoc services
Manual charges
Customers who prefer not to keep a card on file
How One-Time Payments Work
When charging a customer using MioPay (powered by Stripe), you’ll see an option to enter a new card instead of using a saved one.
The payment is processed securely, and the card details are discarded once the transaction is complete.
Step-by-Step: Charge a One-Time Credit Card Payment
Select the customer you would like to charge and select MioPay (Stripe) as the payment method.
Choose Charge with New Card.
Enter the customer’s credit card information.
When prompted “Save this card for future use?”, select No.
Confirm and complete the payment.
Mobile App Note
On the mobile app:
iPhone users can use the camera to scan the credit card
After scanning, manually enter the CVC number to complete the payment.
Once the payment is completed, the card details are automatically discarded
Important Notes
The credit card is used only for the current transaction
Card details are not saved for future payments
Future charges will require the customer to re-enter their card information
This feature is available on both web and mobile platforms
Security & Compliance
All one-time credit card payments are processed securely using industry-standard encryption and payment security practices. Sensitive card data is never stored after the transaction is completed.
When to Use One-Time Payments
Use this option when:
You need to collect payment immediately
A recurring or saved payment method is not required
The customer requests a one-time charge only
If you plan to charge a customer regularly, consider using a saved payment method instead.
