MioCommerce allows you to charge a customer using a credit card for a one-time payment directly from the web or mobile app. This payment method is designed for situations where you do not want to save the customer’s card for future use.

Overview

One-time credit card payments let you securely collect payment for a single transaction. After the payment is completed, the credit card information is not stored in the system.

This feature is ideal for:

  • One-off services

  • Manual or ad-hoc charges

  • Situations where customers prefer not to save a card on file

How It Works

When charging a customer, a new payment option is available when you choose to process the payment using MioPay (powered by Stripe).

Steps

  1. Start the charge flow for the customer and select MioPay (Stripe) as the payment method.

  2. Choose Charge with New Card.

  3. Enter the customer’s credit card information.

  4. When prompted “Save this card for future use?”, select No.

  5. Complete and confirm the payment.

Mobile App Note

On the mobile app, Apple iPhone users can use the camera to scan the credit card. After scanning, manually enter the CVC number to complete the payment.

Once the transaction is processed successfully, the card details are automatically discarded.

Important Notes

  • The credit card is used only for the current transaction

  • Card details are not saved for future payments

  • Future charges will require the customer to re-enter their card information

  • This feature is available on both web and mobile platforms

Security & Compliance

All one-time credit card payments are processed securely using industry-standard encryption and payment security practices. Sensitive card data is never stored after the transaction is completed.

When to Use One-Time Payments

Use this option when:

  • You need to collect payment immediately

  • A recurring or saved payment method is not required

  • The customer requests a one-time charge only

If you plan to charge a customer regularly, consider using a saved payment method instead.
