How to Charge a Customer Using Stripe

Charge customers securely using Stripe in MioCommerce

Easily process payments directly from your MioCommerce account using Stripe. You can charge a customer securely using a saved card, a new card, or by sending a payment link.

This article provides a step-by-step guide for each option.

Section 1 – Requirements

Before charging a customer in MioCommerce, make sure your Stripe account is connected to your MioCommerce account. To learn how to connect Stripe, click here.

Section 2 – How to Charge a Customer

Navigate to Customers.

View the customer you want to charge.

Click on Charge Customer

Section 3 – Charge Options

There are three ways to charge a customer in MioCommerce using Stripe:

  1. Charge with Card on File

    • Use a payment method already saved in the customer’s MioCommerce profile.

    • Payment is processed instantly.

  2. Charge with a New Card

    • Enter a new payment method for a one-time charge.

    • The card can optionally be saved in the customer’s MioCommerce profile for future use.

  3. Send a Payment Link

    • Generate a secure payment link the customer can use to pay online.

    • The customer can click the link to view a summary of the charge and complete payment securely.

    • Before sending, you have the option to preview the email to ensure all details are correct.

Section 4 – Send a Payment Link

The Send a Payment Link option lets you generate a secure link your customer can use to pay online. This is ideal for customers who don’t have a saved payment method or prefer to pay at their convenience.

The customer will receive an email that looks like this. To access the MioCommerce-hosted payment page, they simply need to click Complete Payment.

The link takes the customer to a secure page showing a summary of the charge, including booking(s) details. From this page, they can enter a payment method and complete the payment. They also have the option to save the payment method in MioCommerce for future charges.

After the customer completes payment through the payment link:

  1. Success Page: The customer is redirected to a confirmation page showing that the payment was successful.

  2. Email Notifications:

    • To Administrators: All account administrators receive an email notification when booking(s) are paid using a link. This ensures your team is instantly informed, can provide follow-up support if needed, and continue with related workflows. This notification can be turned off if desired.

  3. Booking(s) Status Update: The booking(s) are automatically marked as Charged in Full inside MioCommerce.

Charging customers with Stripe in MioCommerce is fast, secure, and flexible. Whether using a card on file, a new card, or sending a payment link, all transactions are tracked automatically, making payments simple for both you and your customers.
