The goal of a Service Request is:
To capture customer or prospect interest for services that cannot be instantly priced or booked, while giving them a clear confirmation that their request has been received and is being handled by your business.

A Service Request allows you to formally record the customer’s needs and define the next step—such as a call back, onsite estimate, video consultation, or custom quote—thereby reassuring the customer that a scheduled engagement or follow-up is in progress. This significantly reduces the likelihood of the customer contacting competitors while waiting for a response.

In MioCommerce, a Service Request acts as the bridge between an inquiry and a confirmed booking, enabling structured follow-up, qualification, and conversion.

USE CASE (often used when):

GENERAL:
The service being sold is too complex, variable, or high-value to be instantly priced or booked—even when the customer provides a detailed description of the work required.

Additional characteristics of services where a Service Request should be used:

  • The service absolutely requires an on-site visit in order to:

    • Take detailed measurements that cannot be reliably provided by the customer

    • Perform a physical inspection that cannot be completed via images or videos

  • A significant portion of the total cost is driven by materials rather than labor alone

  • Multiple trades are required to complete the job

  • The service requires multiple visits across multiple days

  • You want to manually qualify, filter, and follow up with leads

  • The total cost of the service is very high (e.g. > $25,000), meaning customers are likely to seek multiple bids before committing

Often used for Service Sectors such as:

  • Major home or commercial renovations or repairs

  • Construction services

  • Plumbing renovations (non-emergency)

  • Electrical renovations (non-emergency)

  • Large landscaping projects

  • Roofing (complete renewals)

  • Masonry rebuilds or new installations

Where Service Requests fit in the MioCommerce booking flow

A Service Request can be created in two main ways:

  1. By your customers or prospects

    • Via a Service Request Page embedded on your website

    • Through shared links sent by email, SMS, chat, or social channels

  2. Manually by your team

    • Entered directly from the MioCommerce dashboard when a customer calls, emails, or messages you

Once created, a Service Request can:

  • Stay open for follow-up

  • Be converted into an Interactive Quote

  • Be turned into a confirmed booking

How to create a Service Request

Creating a Service Request takes just a few minutes and follows a simple flow:

  1. Navigate to Create Service Request

  2. Select an existing customer or add a new prospect

  3. (Optional) Add or confirm the service location

Understanding Service Request statuses

Each Service Request moves through clear statuses so your team always knows what needs attention.

Examples include:

  • New – Request received but not yet addressed

  • Converted to Quote – Converted into an Interactive Quote

  • Converted to Booking – Successfully scheduled as a booking

Statuses make it easy to:

  • Filter and prioritize work

  • Track conversion

  • Ensure no request is forgotten
