Service Provider Overview

Learn how to set up, manage, and coordinate your service providers so bookings are fulfilled smoothly and on time.

In MioCommerce, a Service Provider is any team member who performs the service at your customer’s location. Service providers are sometimes also called technicians.

This can include:

  • Full-time or part-time employees

  • Contractors

  • Independent workers

Examples:

  • Cleaning business → Cleaner

  • Auto detailing business → Detailer / Car wash technician

  • Electrical services → Electrician

Each Service Provider has:

  • Their own Work Calendar

  • Defined working hours and non-working hours

  • Visibility into the bookings assigned to them

What you can do with Service Providers

You can create and manage Service Providers from Operations → Service Providers in the dashboard.

By setting up Service Providers, you can:

  • Assign bookings accurately

  • Track availability and workload

  • Notify your team automatically

  • Coordinate work through the mobile app

  • Control access and permissions

Once assigned, the booking automatically appears on the Service Provider’s calendar and triggers notifications.

👉 Create a Service Provider

Onboarding a Service Provider takes just a few clicks.

During setup, you can:

  • Enter their contact details - Name, email and address

  • Choose how they receive notifications

Once created, they will have their own work calendar and can be assigned bookings immediately.

After creating a Service Provider, you can start assigning the bookings to them.

You can assign bookings in multiple ways:

  • Assign a booking directly to one Service Provider

This gives you flexibility when scheduling multi-person services.

👉 Notify your Service Providers about their booking

Service Providers are automatically notified when:

  • A booking is assigned to them

  • A booking is updated or changed

Notifications are sent using the communication method you’ve selected for that Service Provider. You can also:

This ensures your team always knows when and where they’re needed.

You can manage and coordinate with your team remotely with our Mobile App.

With the app, Service Providers can:

  • Communicate with operators and administrators through TeamChat

  • NEW! Charge the customer for a booking (when permission is granted by admin)

  • NEW! Ask the customer for a new payment method securely (when permission is granted by admin)

  • NEW! Ask the customer for a tip securely (when permission is granted by admin)

  • View all booking details assigned to you

  • Navigate to the client’s location using map features

  • Contact the customer (when permission is granted by admin)

  • Inform the team if you are on the way or running late

  • Check in and check out at the job location

  • Edit personal settings

  • Upload and attach pictures to a booking

This reduces back-and-forth communication and keeps everyone aligned in real time.

  • Disable or activate an employee account

  • Notify the employee that their account is active
