This article explains what Interactive Quote (IQ) Pages are, when to use them, how to create them, and what happens after a customer submits a quote request.

What is an Interactive Quote (IQ) Page?

Interactive Quote (IQ) Pages allow your customers to submit detailed job information, photos, documents, and requirements directly from your websiteβ€”in a guided, interactive way.

They are ideal for services that cannot be priced instantly using a traditional e-commerce cart or Live Pricing & Real-Time Booking Pages.

With Interactive Quote (IQ) Pages, you can:

  • Collect everything you need to prepare an accurate quote

  • Reduce back-and-forth communication

  • Review, price, and send a professional quote with confidence

When should you use an Interactive Quote (IQ) Page?

Use an IQ Page when:

  • The service cannot be completed in a single visit or single day

  • The job may require multiple visits

  • Pricing is lump-sum rather than item-by-item

  • The estimate depends on photos, documents, or specifications

  • The service cannot be booked instantly with real-time availability

Best-fit service examples

  • Complex or large cleaning services

  • Renovations or repairs (single or multiple trades)

  • Landscaping services

  • HVAC or industrial services

  • Automotive or specialized services

  • Legal or notarial services

How Interactive Quote Pages work

An Interactive Quote process has three clear stages:

  1. Customer submits job details

  2. You prepare and send the Interactive Quote

  3. Customer reviews and completes the purchase

All three steps are configurable directly from the IQ Page builder.

How to create an Interactive Quote (IQ) Page

Step 1: Navigate to Advance Booking Pages

From your dashboard:

Step 2: Choose a template

Select a template based on your service category or you can convert/copy one of your previous Live Pricing & Real Time Booking Page.

Templates give you a strong starting structure that you can fully customize.

Step 3: Configure General Settings

Configure settings and select if this is a job -

  • Select Yes for the Job, if the service usually spans multiple days or visits

  • When set to Yes, real-time availability is automatically disabled to prevent incorrect bookings

Learn more about it here. This is recommended for complex or multi-visit services.

Step 4: Configure the Interactive Quoting Process

4a: Edit the Customer facing questions

This is where you define exactly what information customers must provide.

You can:

  • Add, edit, or remove questions

  • Group questions into logical sections

  • Collect everything needed to quote accurately the first time

Typical sections include:

  • Understanding the space or scope

  • Extras or add-ons

  • Attachments (photos, documents, specifications)

Supported attachment formats:
.png, .jpg, .jpeg, .pdf, .txt, .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx

If you remove a mandatory section, a warning appears under Page Building Status.

Example:

Understand the Space/Scope:

Understand any Extras and Add-ons required:

Attachments: Allow the customers to put in attachments like photos, documents etc.

Permissible file formats include: .png, .jpg, .jpeg, .pdf, .txt, .doc, .docx, .xls and .xlsx.

Step 4b: Edit the Interactive Quote (Optional) (Visible only to you)

This section is not visible to customers.

Use it to:

  • Add placeholder line items - Saves you the hassle at the time of actual quoting.

  • Prepare common charges in advance for faster quoting later.

You can always edit these items when creating the actual quote.

Step 4c: Edit the Customer Purchase Page

This is the final step where customers accept your quote and complete the purchase.

You can configure:

  • Service date (if you did not select job as "Yes" in the general settings section)

  • Payment method

  • Service frequency and discounts

  • Notification preferences - You can set a default setting (editable by your customer) for how your customers will be notified about their request and your Interactive Quote.

Step 5: Save, Publish and Install!

Once complete:

  • Save your progress

  • Preview the page

  • Publish the IQ Page

  • Click Install to:

    • Share a hosted link, or

    • Embed the page directly into your website

What happens after a customer submits an Interactive Quote (IQ) request?

For Your Customer

Once a customer submits an Interactive Quote request, MioCommerce automatically handles confirmation and notifications.

Customer sees a confirmation page

Immediately after submission, the customer is shown a Quote Confirmation page.

This page:

  • Confirms the quote request was successfully received

  • Displays the quote number

  • Shows a summary of the submitted job details

  • Informs the customer that the quote will be reviewed by your team

This reassures the customer that their request is in progress.

Customer receives a confirmation email

The customer also receives an automated confirmation email that includes:

  • The quote number

  • Confirmation that the request was received successfully

  • A message indicating your team is preparing the quote

  • Your contact details for any follow-up questions

For Admins

Admin receives a notification email

At the same time, the admin/operator receives an email notification informing them that a new Interactive Quote has been submitted.

This ensures you can promptly review and prepare the quote.

A quote entry appears

When a customer submits an Interactive Quote request, MioCommerce automatically creates a quote entry in your Miocommerce Account under "Quotes"

This entry:

  • Represents a quote request,

  • Is linked to the Prospect

  • Appears with a New / Pending status

  • Contains all job details and attachments submitted by the customer

This allows you to review the request, add pricing details, and prepare the final quote before sending it to the customer.

Review, send, and manage the quote

From the Quote details page, you can:

  • Review all submitted job details

  • Attach files if required

  • Preview the quote as the customer will see it

  • Send the quote to the customer for acceptance

  • Track quote status

Summary

Interactive Quote (IQ) Pages are designed for services that cannot be priced or booked instantly due to job complexity, variable scope, or the need for additional review.

They allow customers to submit detailed job information, photos, and attachments directly from your website, while giving you full control over how the quote is reviewed, priced, and sent.

When an IQ request is submitted, MioCommerce:

  • Confirms the request to the customer (confirmation page + email)

  • Creates a quote entry in the admin for review

  • Notifies the admin so pricing can be prepared and sent

This ensures quotes are handled accurately - while maintaining a clear, professional experience for both the customer and the admin.

P.S You can view all your Interactive Quote and Live Pricing Real Time Booking Pages under "Advance Booking Pages" in the left hand navigation bar in your dashboard.
