In this article, we will cover how bookings and scheduling fit into MioCommerce’s system.
Bookings
Bookings represent your relationship with a customer. They are set periods of time where you or your company will be performing a service for them. There are currently two types of bookings:
Web Bookings – Somebody fills out information on a booking page, the information comes in as a Web Booking.
Internal Bookings – An administrator creates the booking without using the customer-facing booking page. (How can I create an internal/call-in/on-premise booking)
Depending on your booking page’s settings, a booking may start as either “scheduled” or “unscheduled.” Internal bookings are always scheduled. A scheduled web booking is one that has a date and time associated with it, therefore it will show up in your calendar. An unscheduled web booking may not have a date and time, so you must schedule it before it will show up in your calendar (How do I schedule an unscheduled web booking).
Calendar
Once a booking is scheduled, it will appear on the Calendar page. The Calendar you see on this page is populated with booking events. On a booking event, you can see the customer’s name, the time of the booking, the customer’s address, the booking number, and whether or not the booking is part of a recurrence, which means the booking repeats on a set schedule (What is a recurring booking). By clicking on a booking event, you can see more details about the booking in a popover.
You can drag and drop the booking event to reschedule the booking and notify the customer of these changes. You can also drag the bottom of the calendar event to increase its duration (How can I reschedule a booking).
On the calendar, you will also see your operating hours and company non-working hours (What are operating hours, non-working hours, and work hours)
From the top bar of the calendar page, you can:
Toggle between Month, Week, and Day Views.
Sync your calendar with your external Google Calendar (How can I sync my calendar with Google Calendar).
Create a new booking
Go to the create customer page
Change the color mode
Filter the data
By clicking on the calendar in an unfilled location, you will be asked if you want to create an internal booking or a non-working hour. You can click and drag to increase the size of the highlighted area.
Booking Profile
By selecting “View Details” from the calendar event booking details popup, you will arrive at the Booking Profile page. The profile contains all information you’ll need about a booking, including a button for how to cancel the booking (How can I cancel a booking). You are also able to reschedule the booking and edit the booking (including the booking items) from this page. You can also get to the Booking Profile from the Bookings list and selecting the booking from there.
